WHOSE ‘REPORT’: BBC NEWS OR THE KING OF THE JEWS?

WHOSE ‘REPORT’: BBC NEWS OR THE KING OF THE JEWS?

‘Who has believed our report?…” Isaiah 53:1 NKJ

The news can be pretty scary: Natural disasters, terrorism, and financial crisis are just the start of it.

Some of us may even have been affected personally by what’s going on. It often feels like there is no escape. And just to rub things in, it can seem like the media milk these for all they’re worth and sensationalize them to make more money.

Fear sells.

In the midst of bad news, whether global, national, or personal, it’s quite possible that you’ve been tempted to bury your head in the sand. It’s a reaction that assumes ‘if I ignore it, it’ll disappear, right?!’ It’s not the greatest idea at all.

But rather than burying your head, there’s a lot to say for looking UP to God who not only knows how things are going to turn out, but also cares an awful lot about you and your mindset.

It’s safe to say that we all know what it’s like to be up at night worrying about tomorrow.

But He tells us not to listen to the world, but Himself (Check Matt 6:25.)

If you count all the persecution, rejection, and the cross, Jesus didn’t have a whole lot to look forward to.

Everything He knew was probably screaming at Him to run! Fast!

Yet, He put time rooting Himself in God above rather than in listening to what the world was saying.

Which story are you listening to- God’s, or the world’s?

What now?

Try reading or watching the news today with a positive attitude. Keep an eye out for those that need prayer, and bring them before God.
