Word 4U Today

THE WORD, FOR YOU, TODAY (1) — WHYS AND HOWS

THE WORD, FOR YOU, TODAY (1) — WHYS AND HOWS

So, Jesus said “The words I have spoken to you – they are full of the Spirit and life” (John 6:63 NIV).

Obviously, the Bible as we read it, wasn’t a thing when He said that; He was talking about His own, spoken-out-loud words.

But (in a pretty meta way), His words have become Bible – the very words that He used to tell the guys around Him to listen to are now the words of Scripture.

Just like Jesus’ on-earth talking, the rest of the Bible is made up of words that have come right out of God. And they remain full of God. The potency and power that will change your life is still in them, waiting to be discovered by you.

Sometimes, though, reading those words just doesn’t happen. Too much effort. Not enough time. Simple forgetfulness.

What we’re saying today then, as we start off a week’s readings all about how we read the words in this book, is that:

– The Bible is extremely important

-Sometimes it’s hard to know how to use it as a practical tool

-We think we can help

Over the next few days, we’re going to dig deep into what the Bible is, what it does, and how to use it.

Whether you’re well-versed in your God-study, or you struggle to remember where you even keep your Bible, we think it’ll have something good to offer you (well, we are a bit biased).

The Bible really is great, but it’s worth taking some time to remind yourself of the “whys” and “hows” of its greatness.

WHAT NOW?

Just think about your Bible-reading habit. What aspects of it would you like to make better? Are there some Bible-reading habits you’d like to keep?

Verse of the Day:

‘…The words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life.’ John 6:63 KJV
