‘The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms’ Deuteronomy 33:27 NIV

Are you a child of God too frightened to take the plunge into living in God’s ways?

Is your faith always on the edge of the pool but never actually in it?

Are all the things that were ever said to you, or said about you, every story the world has told you, every critical comment you’ve taken into yourself and allowed to become a part of you… all holding you back?

Your Father in Heaven won’t call you onto the diving board only to let you sink and flap about while He has a good at your expense.

Surely, as you leap, however unsteadily, into the unknown, ‘underneath are the everlasting arms’, ready to catch and help you.

Deuteronomy 31:6 might help you cast your “salbabida” aside: ‘Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified … for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you or forsake you’ (NIV).

Did you know that there are no people on this earth who have better help, who are better provided for or looked after than children of God?

When you’re too nervous to look down, know in that same unsteady self that underneath you are those arms. Stand up. Go. Be strong.

It’s time to take a leap of faith this week. What aspects of your life require that leap? Bank on God’s word and take it!
