Word 4U Today

Last one. Let’s wrap this baby up with three big points:

1)                  Anger holds you back.

You won’t learn or grow whenever you see something positive happening in someone’s life, you take up the ‘older brother’ attitude of criticising it. Nah. That’s not good. We’ve all been there, and there’s no other way round it if we’ll ever grow: along with the Father, we need to forgive and move on from the irritations that others might cause us.

2)                  ‘…Son…all that I have is yours’ (Luke 15:31 NKJV).

There it is, plain and simple: there was enough to go round for not just the prodigal son, but the older brother. When you notice God rocking someone’s life, He’s not forgotten you. And He certainly won’t hold back from blessing you with just the same.

3)                  God always listens: sounds obvious?

The older brother didn’t think so. But God says: ‘Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need’ (Hebrews 4:16 NIV). If the older brother just asked for help to overcome his bitterness, life would have even far simpler for him.

What now?

If any one of those points resonates, go, make a cup of tea (yes, even you, Mr/Ms nearly perfect, you probably don’t have it all sorted), and be honest with God. It pays off.

‘…All that I have is yours.’  Luke 15:31 NKJV
