KNOCK KNOCK

KNOCK KNOCK

Go take a peek at Matthew 11:5-8. It tells the story of some guy who knocks on his neighbor’s door in the middle of the night to ask for some bread. The neighbor mutters to himself something along the lines of “Ugh. I was in bed. And I have to get up at six to wash the goats…”. Then he gets up, opens his door, and gives the guy his bread. All because his neighbor had the guts to knock in the first place.

You see, God admires guts.

It’s not that He wants us to be rude; He wants us to know the kind of love He has for us, what He invites us to ask for.

He makes it pretty clear:

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7 NKJV).

A wise preacher we know says: ‘the battle shall not go to the strong, nor to the smart, but to the cheeky’. If you ever put candies into your parent’s supermarket trolley while they watched your cheeky grin, you know what we’re talking about.

If you want to hear from God, start the conversation. Ask Him to speak. He’s just waiting to answer. Why not talk to him right now?

WHAT NOW?

Have you ever trusted that God would answer any prayer you asked? What did it feel like? See if you can recapture that feeling, then, with ‘cheekiness’ that comes from a trust in how good He is, ask Him, right now!

Verse of the Day:

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7 NKJV
