Word 4U Today

Yesterday was all about what happens when Christians work together. Wonderful stuff.

Now. How? How do we work together? How do we do unity?

Paul has some great advice in Romans. He compares the Church to the human body. He writes that

“Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around… So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvellously functioning parts in Christ’s body, let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be…” (Romans 12:5-6).

One good way to work together with the church around you is to find out from God what role He has made you to fulfill, and then fulfill it.

After all, He created the overall plan.

He’s created everyone around you to fit together, kind of like a jigsaw.

If every piece chooses to ‘be’ its right shape, the overall picture will come together, no problems.

And, with a God-designed team around you, you have no reason to be nervous about taking up your part in things. You can step up to your place in the knowledge that the guys and girls around you are commissioned by the same, unshakable God.

Pick a fellow Christian and send them a message (or chat with them) about ways that you can take hold of your role in church. And if you’re not sure what your “function” is, do the same but ask them to help you figure it out.

Verse of the Day:

“In Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:5 (NIV)
